Gossamer began her online career at the University of Montana when she (and a group of her close friends who lived in the illustrious all girls dorm called Turner Hall) noticed a male interloper lurking in the computer room downstairs on a regular basisWas he a vampire?  He was there all hours of the day and night.  Perhaps he was a spirit?  Rumors flew but the truth was stranger still - mud addictHuh, you say? But alas, no, it was nothing so complexEvidently, the girls dorm was the only place an open computer could be found 24/7 on campus.  Loosing a bet one day with her tight knit group of friends, she approached said individual to learn his name and that he was totally addicted to mudding.  A MUD is a multi-user dungeon that is a completely graphic text based roleplaying game that incorporates hack-n-slash with sometimes very epic storylines.    She bribed the gentleman, whom we will simply call Chris, into teaching her about it, and soon her and her group of friends were hard at work mudding alongside their new fearless leader.  Things escalated, and later that year they opened a prominent Mud that operated successfully from 1991-2006.  Winning numerous text-based gaming awards from such organizations as Yahoo and Tintin, Gossamer found that the era of text based action adventure was somewhat over with the advent of WoW and other games in a similar situation and so she shut down the mud and moved on to  writing emphasising games.

Working for a good chunk of time, Gossamer wrote and published papers on Coho Salmon, Spotted Owls, Snags, Forest Practices, and surveyed a good portion of the Pacific Northwest for presence and absence of Salmonids.  Along with her scientific pursuits, she took an interest in horses, gemstones and rocks, plants, and anything else living or glittering.  She absolutely loves to fish, though she doesn't get much time to do so these days.

Once back in Washington she met and married the love of her life (whom she connected with online over her MUD), and found out being single wasn't all it was cracked up to be. After several years as a wildlife biologist, Gossamer gave up the life of a biologist when she came to the realization that a soft science career on the west coast was not going to get her what she truly wanted: a horse farm.  Thus, she took up long haul truck driving for the better part of seven years to furiously save the funds needed to buy herself a home and a little farm.  In 2007 she was able to achieve this goal.  After settling down, gaining some experience with play by post games, she jumped full throttle into the Mizahar project being unable to find a play by post type RPG that suited her style and needs completely.  Why not build it if you cannot find it, right?

Gossamer - The Notorious J.E.N.

Gossamer is one of the six founding members of Mizahar. Along with Tarot, Liminal, Cayenne, Colombina‎, and Gillar they form the Founders Circle which created Mizahar in 2009 and continues to develop it to this day. Considering herself more of a designer and developer rather than an Admin, Goss (feel free to call her that) loves lurking behind storylines and weaving intense plots to her hearts content. Don't mind her in this hugely unflattering picture. She's lounging in her favorite recliner with a lap full of cats trying and seriously failing to look cool.

Biography

Gossamer is a thirty-something small-town woman with a colorful history rife with science, art, and travel. Having a BS in Wildlife Biology and a history of a career in the soft scientists as a professional Wildlife Biologist, Gossamer particularly enjoys nature. She has worked with coho salmon, spotted owls, riparian and old-growth forest habitats, wetland restoration and numerous amphibian studies. She shares a small hobby farm with her husband (whom she loves dearly) and assorted horses, cats, dogs and birds.

Gossamer also considers herself something of an artist, writer, and game designer. She's won numerous awards at multiple educational levels with artwork, both regional and state wide. Since college and the long winters stuck indoors in Montana, she's always loved roleplaying with tabletop games. Goss has had D&D Groups, played Star Trek, Star Wars, and numerous original world game scenarios ran by various friends for 'something different'. That's where Mizahar came in. It's something 'different' designed by a group of online friends to be original and welcoming. Artistically appealing, visually inspiring, and content rich, Mizahar is designed for gamers by gamers with enough flexibility built in to allow for all sorts of personalities.

The Akalak, Konti, and Kelvic are her project races, while she helped develop Syliras, Avanthal, Mura, Endrykas, and Riverfall as cities. Current projects are skills development, divine magic (Gnosis), and various monster contributions.
