Taylor Brudt is the current Stewart Knight for the Yellow Company, 1st Regiment, Silver Quadron. He is technically in charge of the Syliran Docks, though some wings of his company patrol the Suvan Sea in various capacities. His largest project involves the infiltration of knights into some of the pirate crews that plague the Suvan Sea. He is the youngest Stewart Knight, and also has been with the knighthood for the shortest time among those who hold equal rank.

Appearance
Taylor looks like what he once was - a pirate. He's often dirty and scruffy, never wears armor or any indication of his rank, and is almost constantly smoking, drinking, or both. It is nearly impossible to spot him amongst the rough and tumble crowd that makes up the usual landscape of the Syliran Docks, but he stands out like a sore thumb when he's among his fellow knights. He rarely carries a weapon with him, but will always have a compass and sextant with him, as well as a wooden pipe and a flask of some deadly liquor.
Personality
Perhaps the most hated knight in the entire order, Taylor has made a name for himself simply by being a bastard. He's aggressive, despises authority, and often near-mutinous if he doesn't like an order or assignment given. He seems to have little care for civilians, though there are rumors that he will personally beat the ever-living shit out of anyone he witnesses bullying or intimidating an innocent in his presence - but its said that such actions are inconsistent at best, and one can never count on whether he will feel like intervening or not.
Biography
Taylor was born aship to a slave girl, and raised from birth to be a pirate. He was one of the most ferocious ones on the waters, a genius at tactics and able to ferret out information about trading shipments better than most people twice his age. By the time he was fifteen, he was captaining his own vessel and well known by the black sails of his ship.
Two years later, though, he was finally caught by a group of squires who were sent to take him down as their Knighting Quest. They brought him alive to Syliras to face the judgment of the Council of Three. Before he could be sentenced, though, the proceedings were interrupted by Loren Dyres himself. To everyone's surprise, he was brought to the Windoak - who spent nearly an hour conversing with him, and then sent him on his own Knighting Quest. It was from this extremely unprecedented beginning that Taylor joined the Syliran Knights.
He spent his first year within the order struggling to find a place for himself. It seemed impossible until Lance Stalinsa realized that he was a much better leader than a follower, and promoted him to Sergeant. Given his own wing of knights to command, Taylor immediately flourished. That wing was the first to be sent undercover to infiltrate a ship's crew and bring down a ring of pirates that had been terrorizing one of the trade routes. In the year that followed, Taylor became famous for his daring antics in the fight against piracy, and soon reached the much-coveted position of Stewart Knight.
For all his sordid history and shockingly bad attitude, and the constant rumor among the knights that he's untrustworthy, he has never once broken the oaths he made when becoming a knight. He may seem antithetical to the knighthood at first glance, and maybe the second glance as well, but no one said that every knight had to be a choirboy.
