While there are a number of subterranean locales in the Jungle Wilds, the majority of its Salamander population is located within Zinrah which acts as a rich breeding ground for the creatures. It is the perfect mixture of damp and warmth which also happens to be filled with a plethora of their their dietary needs with a variety of mosses as well as cave dwelling fish and insects. Very rarely a particularly large Salamander will kill and eat a Snakeling, but this happens once in a century if not longer because of how vigilant the young Dhanis' caretakers are when the young go hunting their first Salamanders.

Dart Salamander

Generally referred to as 'Darts,' the Dart Salamander is the smallest and quickest of its brethren, generally only growing to a foot in length. They subsist almost entirely off of moss, are blind, and enjoy the steam of the plentiful hot pools located in Zinrah. They are common to find when one is visiting the Steam Baths or any other heated water source in the city, though hard to spot as they blend perfectly in with the rocks around them. They are hard to find, harder to catch, and very common within Zinrah.

Plated Salamander

The Plated Salamander is the largest of its cousins to roam the tunnels below Zinrah. It can reach up to 12 ft in length from head to tail, though an average size for the Salamanders is around 9 feet. They are amiable creatures, and difficult to kill only because their sheer weight makes it hard to access their soft stomachs. Though their plates are generally shades of browns and greys, the rest of their skin ranges in bright neon colors.

Selios

The Selios are distinctive red and purple spotted salamanders that grow to be around 4 feet in length. They are poisonous if ingested, causing intestinal distress and serious damage to internal organs that will lead to death. While that is the main source of their danger, the Selios also possesses poisonous glands in its mouth that it can use to spray venom. This poison is not harmful unless it comes into contact with an open wound or sore, and then will infect the bloodstream and cause the victim severe pain, hallucinations, and if not treated in some way on smaller beings can lead to death. This is a much higher risk for snakelings than it is an Adult Dhani. As such any Selios sighting is taken quite seriously, and the Amphibians are killed on sight. Despite this, a few manage to surface every now and again around the Steam Baths.

Syna's Bane

Syna's Bane is a poisonous Salamander that can grow up to 5 feet in length. A slender vibrant creature, it can be eaten without harm, but only after it is properly cleaned, as its poison lies in a sticky secretion that covers its body. Because of the work it takes to make sure it is safe to consume, most do not bother, though it is highly sought after by philterers and creators of toxins who collect the secretions. It is an uncommon sight in Zinrah due to its potential danger to Snakelings, and also difficult to catch because of its surprising agility. Its poisonous secretions if touched with the bare skin cause irritation and over time will create a rash and even blistering if contact is kept too long. This effect is hastened if an individual ingests the poison

Wress

The Wress is a very rare sight within Zinrah due to the nature of its skin. Growing 3-4 feet in length they are not particularly large compared to some other Salamander breeds, but possess a strange quality apart from their brethren because their blue stomachs possess a bioluminescent quality. They were hunted to near extinction in a passing fashion craze that faded when the Dhani realized the glow to the Wress's stomach did not carry on after death. To see one now one must go deeper into the cities tunnels than most ever care to venture.

Zinrah Climber

Perhaps the most common Salamander in Zinrah, the Climber ranges in length from 3-7 feet, size generally depending on just how much food the Climber can gorge itself on as it grows. As the name suggests all but the largest of the salamanders are able to scale the walls of caverns and sometimes even cling to the ceiling. They blend in perfectly with the surrounding rocks and have plain grey pattering with usually earth toned stomachs. They are easy prey for snakelings learning to hunt and are always plentiful in the lower tunnels of Zinrah.
