Overview

Voms have always been enticing creatures full of vivid colours and vibrant attitudes. They’re slow, yet playful amongst their own kind and can be spotted from a long ways. They have been constantly hunted by the people of Falyndar for their scales and meat. Where some will take these creatures in and make them their pets, others will cook them up and sell them as Vom shish kabobs. They are a common cuisine found throughout the jungle. Because of the heavy population that is always increasing, is essential for the hunting of the Vom.

Characteristics

A Vom’s body is covered in scales ranging from green to yellow to orange, which are soft despite their sharp appearance. They are never dim colours, often blinding to the eye at times. They are relatively small creatures, growing not much bigger than a foot long, but they are great at defending themselves in times of need. The Vom bear claws that are sharp enough to slice through flesh, yet not so sharp as to cause severe damage to anything. They have a large nose which helps aid them in sniffing both their predators and their next meal. When used for the former, they are able to smell their enemy miles away, giving them plenty of time to find safety. They might be very slow, but they have abilities that give them advantages. As for their ears, they don’t help them in the slightest. Voms are virtually deaf; that is why they rely on the sense of smell and their vision, which is cloudy, yet still working. Over time their hearing started to deplete eventually evolving to such an extent that they could no longer hear. Their faces are speckled with every colour one can imagine. Some Voms may have red splotches on their face whereas others might have speckles of blue or splashes of pink. They always have some marking of black on their body, however, as to help identify them.

Social Structure

A Vom is never found outside alone. They tend to stay in tight packs of no more than five. Usually these five are a family, staying close to one another for safety measures. These creatures have an unusual reproductive system, bearing both the female and male systems. However, they cannot create offspring on their own. There is some chemical component in the DNA that disallows such action. Instead, they are given free rein to reproduce with any gender they chose, hence why there is so many of them around the region.
