Following in the footsteps of their ancestors, the Dawn House were one of the three original leading families of the Kao'tani tribe preceding the Valterrian. They hailed from the lands of Kalea, when the Misty Peaks had not existed and their lives revolved around a civilization built beside the sea. The Dawn family were famed for their exceptional and practical use of Reimancy, and were looked upon as being unique for they were the only magicians of the Kao'tani tribe to not use a magic discipline that did not involve the body or soul. Much of the Dawn family revolved around all the elements, but such risks resulted in many premature deaths not easily forgotten.
Much of the members of Dawn have always been regarded as kind and gentle. Despite their use of such destructive magic, they have steadied their minds and cultivated their djed through extensive meditation. Of the three families, the Dawn are respected for their generosity, their trustworthiness and their willingness to teach those what they have to offer. They usually if not occasionally butt heads with the Twilight House, having drastically different views in terms of potential candidates for magic.
Today
Today, the Dawn family are well-known to house the best healers in Lhavit. Not only this, they have since forbidden the teaching of fire reimancy and have limited earth reimancy considerably but have since revolved exclusively on air and water. Fire reimancy may still be taught in the other two Towers, but the Dawn family will not take responsibility for the destructive outcomes that may result from it. For those seeking separate lessons in a different magical discipline, Sousa Dawn had begun taking in one or two students to teach Shielding, and has since been determined to make it the new skill the Dawn family is known for. It is also curious to note that the Dawn Tower is the only Tower to house the first Matriarch, as Sousa's father bore no sons.
Any member of the Dawn family are treated with the utmost respect and honor, for they have been prime donors to individuals who wished to start a business, or had not the coin for lessons. They are almost always guaranteed free service in any establishment.
